A Kentucky prankster is leaving folks in the small town of Somerset in a sticky situation.
The self-proclaimed “Peanut Butter Smearer” has been targeting homes and other buildings in the area by sneaking up and leaving the doorknobs covered in peanut butter. Not even the Pulaski County Fair was safe as the peanut butter perpetrator smeared the sticky substance on surfaces.
“When my treasurer walked out the door in front of me, she said, ‘I have something all over my hands,'” Rebecca Cash, the wife of the Pulaski County Fair board president, told WKYT on June 17.
“And you know you look at it, you don’t have any idea what it is. And she’s like, ‘I think it’s peanut butter,'” Cash continued.
While it might seem like a harmless prank to most, Cash pointed out that some people have severe nut allergies and coming in contact with peanut butter could have severe consequences.

“The scary realization hit that someone could’ve walked up here that has a severe allergy to peanuts,” Cash explained. “So I kind of got a little worried at that point.”
The unidentified suspect has even gone so far as to film his or herself in the midst of their nutty antics. Several videos on TikTok show a gloved hand reaching out and spreading peanut butter on doors.
According to WBKR, authorities are aware of the situation, but so far no arrests have been made and the suspect remains at large. Their most recent video was posted on Sunday, June 21, and featured them slathering peanut butter on yet another unsuspecting victim’s home.
